Taste buds have been often disrespected lately with all those green drinks, chia seeds and kelp taking the limelight lately -- and, ironically rightly so, given their amazing health benefits.

A Belgian waffle, on the other hand, has very few health advantages but sometimes one with blood sugar levels in the normal range has to go with this comfort food that ranks right up there with pleasing the taste buds.

The Belgian Waffle at Murph's Place in Norwood, Mass., amazes with a heaping seving of strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream and the right touch of confectioners sugar. Just looking at this Belgian waffle makes for a mouthwatering experience!

Murph's Place, a lively breakfast and lunch, cash-only restaurant located in a rather hidden back of a Norwood center strip mall spot, often packs in local crowds with its its carpeted, seasonally decorated roadside restaurant for this dish, as well as pancakes, skillet dishes, bacon and eggs, omelets, club sandwiches, burgers and other comfort foods. They seem to do everything well -- certainly one of the better breakfast and lunch places we've experienced during our New England travels. It's only 15 miles southwest of Boston, so if you're in the neighborhood, this is a great choice.

Your taste buds will be happy with the choice. After all, Belgian Waffles have a superior grid system compared to the unsettling Boston roadways, in addition to withstanding the culinary test of time, dating back to 1958, when first introduced in Brussels, Belgium!
