It's true testimony to an "outdoor" store when its retail appeal makes you want to stay inside -- that is, inside the store.
It's also true testimony to think of a retail store as a major New England tourist attraction, but the 140,000 sq. ft.  Bass Pro Shops at Patriot Place, Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA, is just that. Much more than your typical outdoor store, Bass Pro shops features, for starters, a 21-ft. waterfall leading to a giant aquarium with 400 fish native to New England, streams, caves leading under the aquarium, a bridge that spans the first story, a two-story laser shooting arcade, a fishing shack display, a genuine lobster boat, a 50 ft. humpback whale display, glass elevators, a huge fireplace, the casual, attractive Blue Fin Lounge restaurant, a rustic cafe for coffee and snacks, and an all-glass back of the building overlooking scenic country land. It's almost as amazing as the vast selection of hunting, fishing, camping and outdoor clothing merchandise -- for the most part, at reasonable prices!
