The air is refreshing, the beach largely empty and the feeling of the rocky Maine coast in its full glory at Short Sands Beach in York Beach, Maine.
Spring is simply an ideal time to visit this beautiful quarter mile of sandy beach with rocky coast and scenic ocean views. Free foot access, and at this time of the year, free parking in the adjacent York Beach town parking lot, proves the point that a no cost attraction can often feel like a million dollar experience. While not much is open in York Beach during early to mid-spring, that’s OK with many of us Short Sands Beach fans: sometimes all you need in life is a great beach!
