An Apple Orchard A Day, Part 3: Kimball Fruit Farm Stand, Pepperell, Mass.

Share this New England story on

The remote, rural Kimball Fruit Farm Stand looks like New Hampshire and feels like New Hampshire, but it’s just over the border in Pepperell, Mass. Back in the day when I wasn’t quite as bright, I always thought Kimball Farm was in Hollis, N.H.! It might have helped to look at the “Entering Pepperell” sign.

Whatever the state, Kimball Fruit Farm is currently offering Macs, Cortland, Galas and Honeycrisps. We’ve always found plenty of apples to pick here and the distant mountain views and scenic farm land lend a special “You’re officially in New England” feeling.

While Kimball Farm doesn’t have the spiffy, slick look of nearby modern-day farms, this historic farm is up-to-date in a very important category: responsible farming. Kimball Farm practices the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) low-spray program, offering customers the healthiest produce possible while protecting the environment.

Kimball Fruit Farm is actively involved in local Farmer’s Markets and has its own farm stand on the farm — some fantastic fresh fruits and vegetables here.  We greatly appreciate  Kimball Fruit Farm’s integrity, products and scenery!
