Menotomy Rocks Park in Arlington, Mass., is a free-to-use 34-acre oasis located in the Jason Heights section of Arlington, Mass. With the scenic quarter-mile Hills Pond to stroll around (also some good fishing and winter ice skating here), a playground for the kids, and forested hilly, walking trails, Menotomy Rocks Park, thankfully, hangs onto to its simple recipe of being an old-fashioned park within a bustling town that has become more of an extension of Cambridge than the sleepy, working-class town that it was not too long ago. One complaint that you hear a lot — and it’s true — too many selfish, self-entitled dog owners that ignore the leash laws, making it awkward for others. Other than that, what a nice place to visit!
