I recently featured a York Beach sunset scene post at the York Beach + New England Cheap Travel Blog but, for today will focus on the opposite end of the day with sunrise at Long Sands Beach.
Yes, many of us like to spend our vacations waking up late but sometimes Mother Nature’s magnificence inspires rising at the break of day to see the regenerative shine of a new day in the form of a sunrise. Locally, Long Sands Beach seems to possess some of the best sunrises, especially by the ocean and with the waves bobbing up and down as if they were approving this spectacular scene.
This type of sunrise in not just for the birds. Get out and enjoy!

I took this photo in September 2021 during our stay at the Grand View Inn Hotel & Cottages, directly across the street from Long Sands Beach. It’s a terrific, no-frills place to stay with nice, clean rooms, an indoor pool and an ideal location.
May you be blessed by witnessing a sunrise like this while visiting York Beach. Just be sure to wake up early. It’s worth it!
