Every April, locals and visitors can witness the one-million plus daffodils blooming in Newport, R.I. as part of the Daffodil Days Festival throughout the city. The million dollar views, however, take place alongside Newport’s Cliff Walk near and at Salve Regina University. It’s like a Rhode Island rite of passage into spring.

Viewing these most beautiful flowers at one of New England most beautiful coastal walks at one of the United States’ most beautiful campuses makes for, well, a beautiful experience! For many, the sight of fields of daffodils juxtaposed with the ocean views and historic, stately campus buildings might just serve as the highlight of a Newport visit. That’s noteworthy, considering what the city has to offer including the famous mansions, beaches and thriving downtown with its shops and restaurants.
Don’t wait too long to see this amazing sight as the shelf life of daffodils is short. If you miss it this year, however, there’s always next!
